Effective date: 12 August 2026 · Last updated: 12 August 2026These Terms of Purchase explain how orders placed through Avanta are processed, purchased, priced, fulfilled and delivered. By placing an order through BuyAvanta.com, you agree to these Terms of Purchase together with Avanta's applicable Shipping & Delivery Policy, Returns, Cancellations & Refunds Policy, Restricted & Prohibited Items Policy, Privacy Policy and Conditions of Use. If there is a conflict between these Terms of Purchase and a product-specific term shown during checkout, the more specific term presented for that transaction will apply to the extent permitted by law.
1. About Avanta
Avanta helps customers shop eligible products from U.S. retailers and arrange their fulfillment and transportation to Ghana.
Products displayed, recommended, requested or purchased through Avanta may originate from independent third-party retailers, sellers, manufacturers, distributors or marketplaces in the United States.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- Avanta is not the manufacturer of those products and is not the underlying U.S. retailer or marketplace seller.
- Avanta provides the Avanta shopping, procurement, coordination, fulfillment and logistics experience described in these Terms.
2. How an Avanta purchase works
A typical Avanta order follows this process:
- You select or request a product through Avanta.
- Avanta displays available product and pricing information.
- You review your order and applicable Avanta charges.
- You place and pay for your Avanta order.
- Avanta attempts to purchase or procure the applicable product from the selected or appropriate U.S. retailer.
- The U.S. retailer processes and ships the product.
- Where applicable, the product is received at the Avanta U.S. Hub.
- Eligible products are transported to Ghana.
- The order completes applicable Ghana customs clearance.
- The order is received and verified at the Avanta Ghana Hub.
- The order is released for pickup or onward delivery.
Not every order will follow every step exactly.
3. Placing an order does not guarantee retailer fulfillment
Submitting payment to Avanta confirms your intention to purchase the applicable product through Avanta.
However, third-party retailer fulfillment remains subject to matters outside Avanta's control, including:
- retailer inventory;
- price changes;
- retailer purchase limits;
- retailer fraud-prevention systems;
- product discontinuation;
- retailer cancellation;
- variant availability;
- shipping restrictions; and
- other retailer requirements.
Avanta will not knowingly represent an unavailable product as successfully purchased when it has not been secured from the retailer.
4. When an order becomes confirmed
An Avanta checkout confirmation means that Avanta has received your order request and payment or applicable payment authorization.
It does not necessarily mean that the third-party retailer has accepted or fulfilled the underlying purchase.
Where Avanta successfully secures the product from the retailer, the order may progress to "Purchased" or another equivalent order status.
If Avanta cannot complete the retailer purchase, Avanta will notify you and provide the applicable options under these Terms.
5. Product information
Avanta may display product information obtained from:
- U.S. retailers;
- marketplaces;
- manufacturers;
- distributors;
- product feeds;
- third-party data services; and
- other commercial data sources.
This information may include:
- product descriptions;
- specifications;
- dimensions;
- weight;
- colors;
- sizes;
- images;
- availability;
- pricing;
- ratings;
- reviews; and
- retailer information.
Avanta aims to present product information accurately, but third-party product information may occasionally contain errors, delays, omissions or outdated information. Customers should review important product specifications before purchase.
6. Product images and colors
Product images are provided for shopping reference.
Actual appearance may vary because of:
- lighting;
- screen settings;
- manufacturer changes;
- packaging changes;
- product revisions;
- color rendering; or
- other reasonable differences.
A minor visual difference that does not materially change the product is not automatically considered a wrong or defective item.
7. Product price
The U.S. retailer price displayed by Avanta reflects the best current pricing information available to Avanta at the time it is shown.
Third-party retailer prices may change without notice. Avanta does not control retailer pricing.
8. No silent price increases
Avanta will not silently increase the retailer product price after you have placed your order.
If the retailer price increases before Avanta successfully completes the purchase, and the increase requires additional payment from you, Avanta will not proceed at the higher price without your approval.
You may be offered options such as:
- Continue with the purchase: approve the updated price and pay the applicable difference.
- Choose another product: select an alternative product where available.
- Remove the affected item: cancel that item and receive the applicable refund.
Avanta will not knowingly charge the higher retailer price without informing you.
9. Price decreases
If the retailer price decreases before Avanta completes the underlying purchase, Avanta will apply its approved pricing and reconciliation process.
Where the customer's charged product amount exceeds the final amount required for the applicable product purchase, Avanta will handle the difference transparently in accordance with the pricing method disclosed during the transaction.
Avanta will not intentionally conceal a material product-price reduction for the purpose of retaining an undisclosed difference.
10. Pricing errors
Occasionally, a retailer, marketplace, data provider or Avanta system may display an obviously incorrect price.
Examples may include:
- a misplaced decimal;
- an incorrect retailer feed;
- a temporary retailer pricing error;
- a currency-conversion error; or
- another obvious technical mistake.
If a material pricing error is identified before purchase, Avanta may pause or cancel the affected item rather than completing the transaction at an obviously erroneous price. The customer will be notified and provided with available options.
11. No unapproved substitutions
Avanta will not automatically substitute a materially different product without customer approval.
If your requested product becomes unavailable, Avanta may recommend alternatives through Sika, Avanta Support or another Avanta shopping experience. However, Avanta must obtain your approval before purchasing a materially different substitute.
Examples of changes requiring approval may include:
- different brand;
- different model;
- materially different size;
- materially different color where color is important;
- different product type;
- materially different specifications; or
- higher price.
12. Minor retailer or manufacturer changes
Certain non-material changes made by a retailer or manufacturer may not require customer approval.
Examples may include:
- updated packaging;
- minor label design changes;
- manufacturer packaging revisions;
- equivalent product packaging counts where the underlying ordered quantity remains the same; or
- minor appearance changes that do not materially alter the product ordered.
Avanta will use reasonable judgment when determining whether a change is material.
13. Size, color and variant selection
Customers are responsible for selecting the appropriate:
- size;
- color;
- model;
- configuration;
- quantity;
- compatibility;
- voltage;
- specification; and
- other product variant
before completing the purchase. Where Sika or Avanta provides a recommendation, the customer remains responsible for reviewing the final selected product before payment.
14. Sika recommendations
Sika is Avanta's AI shopping agent. Sika may help customers:
- discover products;
- compare options;
- shop by budget;
- identify alternatives;
- understand product information; and
- navigate Avanta's catalog.
Sika's recommendations are intended to assist shopping decisions. They do not replace the customer's responsibility to review the final product selection before purchase.
Sika must not be treated as providing:
- medical advice;
- legal advice;
- financial advice;
- professional product certification; or
- manufacturer guarantees.
15. Product availability
Product availability can change rapidly.
A product displayed as available when you view it may become unavailable before Avanta completes the retailer purchase. If that happens, Avanta will not substitute another product without approval.
Avanta may offer:
- another seller;
- another retailer;
- an alternative product;
- a wait option where appropriate; or
- cancellation and an applicable refund.
16. Third-party retailers
Avanta purchases products from or facilitates purchases involving independent retailers and sellers. Those retailers may maintain their own:
- warranties;
- return rules;
- purchase limits;
- seller conditions;
- product guarantees; and
- fulfillment policies.
Where appropriate, those policies may affect the customer's available options. Avanta's own responsibilities under applicable law remain separate from those retailer policies.
17. Marketplace sellers
Some products may be sold through marketplaces that contain independent third-party sellers. Where retailer/seller information is available, Avanta may display the applicable seller or source information.
Marketplace availability does not automatically constitute an Avanta guarantee regarding:
- seller authorization;
- product authenticity;
- warranty eligibility; or
- seller performance.
Avanta will not make authenticity or authorized-retailer claims unless Avanta has a reasonable basis for doing so.
18. Authenticity
Avanta does not knowingly facilitate counterfeit goods.
Where Avanta represents a product as authentic, such representation must be based on information Avanta can reasonably substantiate.
The fact that a product carries a recognizable brand name does not by itself mean that Avanta independently authenticated the product. Customers purchasing high-value branded goods should review available seller and retailer information before ordering.
19. Avanta charges
The Avanta checkout may contain components such as:
- product cost;
- applicable U.S. sales tax;
- Avanta service fee;
- air-freight charge;
- Greater Accra doorstep delivery charge, where applicable; and
- other clearly disclosed Avanta charges.
The actual components displayed may vary based on the order. Avanta will disclose applicable charges before the customer completes payment.
20. Avanta total
The amount shown as "AVANTA TOTAL" represents the amount collected by Avanta for the items and services expressly included in that checkout.
It should not be interpreted as automatically including every possible third-party or government cost associated with importing or receiving the order in Ghana.
21. Ghana customs and government charges
Ghana customs duties, import taxes, levies, permits, government charges and similar import-related costs are not included in the Avanta checkout total unless Avanta expressly states otherwise.
These amounts, where applicable, are assessed separately during the Ghana import-clearance process. The customer is responsible for applicable customs or government charges associated with the order, subject to applicable law. Avanta does not control the amount assessed by Ghanaian authorities.
Ghana Customs distinguishes between goods that are restricted subject to licenses, permits or certificates and goods that are prohibited from importation.
22. Greater Accra doorstep delivery
For eligible Greater Accra addresses, Avanta may offer doorstep delivery during checkout. The applicable Avanta delivery fee will be displayed before payment.
If the customer selects this option and completes checkout, the applicable delivery fee becomes part of the Avanta Total for that order.
23. Delivery outside Greater Accra
Customers outside Greater Accra may still place eligible Avanta orders. Once the order reaches and completes verification at the Avanta Ghana Hub, Avanta will coordinate onward delivery with an appropriate third-party courier.
Unless Avanta expressly states otherwise:
- The third-party courier's delivery charge is not included in the Avanta Total.
- The customer will pay the applicable courier charge directly to the courier upon delivery.
- Avanta coordinates the onward delivery but does not treat that separately paid courier fee as Avanta revenue.
24. Free Avanta Ghana Hub pickup
Eligible customers may select free pickup from Avanta Ghana Hub, 66 Bitstock Street, Teshie, Greater Accra, Ghana (GhanaPost GPS: GZ-182-8629).
Customers must wait for a "READY FOR PICKUP" notification before visiting the hub.
25. Shipping weight
Product weight information displayed before physical receipt may come from:
- retailer data;
- manufacturer data;
- catalog data;
- estimated packaging information; or
- other reasonable sources.
Actual chargeable shipping weight may differ after the product is received. Where a material weight discrepancy affects the amount payable, Avanta will communicate the applicable adjustment transparently.
26. Restricted products
The fact that a product appears on BuyAvanta.com, in Sika results, on a U.S. retailer's website or in a product search does not automatically mean it can legally or safely be transported to Ghana.
Products remain subject to the Restricted & Prohibited Items Policy and applicable law, airline requirements, carrier requirements and Ghanaian import rules.
Ghana Customs states that restricted goods can require licenses, permits or certificates, while prohibited goods are not permitted for importation.
27. Restriction discovered after purchase
Occasionally, a product restriction may only become apparent after Avanta purchases the item or receives additional product information.
If that happens, Avanta will evaluate reasonable available options, which may include:
- cancelling the retailer order;
- returning the item where eligible;
- selecting an approved alternative with customer consent;
- using another lawful transportation method where available; or
- processing an applicable refund.
Any legitimate non-recoverable third-party costs will be handled in accordance with Avanta's Returns, Cancellations & Refunds Policy and applicable law.
28. Order cancellations
Customers may request cancellation through Avanta. Whether cancellation is possible depends on the order's stage. Cancellation is generally easiest before Avanta has completed the underlying retailer purchase. After retailer processing or shipment begins, cancellation may no longer be possible.
See Avanta's Returns, Cancellations & Refunds Policy for additional details.
29. Returns and refunds
Avanta's Returns, Cancellations & Refunds Policy governs:
- customer cancellations;
- change-of-mind requests;
- retailer cancellations;
- wrong products;
- damaged products;
- defective products;
- refund amounts; and
- refund timing.
That policy forms part of these Terms of Purchase.
30. Retailer refunds
Where a refund depends on recovery of money from a third-party retailer, marketplace, seller, carrier or other responsible party, Avanta may need to wait for confirmation or settlement from that party before completing the applicable refund.
Avanta will not intentionally delay a refund once the applicable refundable amount is confirmed and available for processing.
31. Payment methods
Avanta may make available various payment methods.
Only payment methods displayed and enabled during checkout should be considered available for a particular transaction. Availability may depend on:
- payment provider;
- currency;
- transaction amount;
- customer location;
- technical availability; and
- fraud or security controls.
32. Payment authorization
By submitting payment information, you confirm that:
- you are authorized to use the selected payment method;
- the information provided is accurate;
- the transaction is legitimate; and
- Avanta and its payment providers may process the transaction as required to complete the purchase.
33. Payment failure
An order may not proceed if:
- payment fails;
- payment authorization is declined;
- payment cannot be verified;
- required payment information is incomplete; or
- the transaction is reasonably flagged for fraud or security review.
Avanta may ask the customer to use another available payment method.
34. Fraud prevention
Avanta may use reasonable fraud-prevention and transaction-security measures. An order may be temporarily paused where Avanta reasonably believes additional verification is necessary.
Avanta may request information needed to verify:
- identity;
- payment authorization;
- order legitimacy;
- high-value transactions; or
- suspected misuse.
Avanta will handle personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection requirements.
35. Order limits
Avanta may impose reasonable limits on:
- order quantity;
- product value;
- product category;
- retailer;
- customer;
- transaction amount;
- shipping eligibility; or
- high-risk purchases
where required for operational, retailer, fraud-prevention, insurance, regulatory or transportation reasons.
36. High-value products
High-value products may be subject to additional:
- purchase verification;
- identity verification;
- insurance requirements;
- delivery controls;
- pickup verification;
- signature or OTP requirements; or
- product-review procedures.
These controls are intended to protect both the customer and Avanta.
37. Avanta arrival verification
Where applicable, Avanta may perform receiving and visual verification when an order reaches the Avanta Ghana Hub. This may include checking:
- package identity;
- visible exterior condition;
- shipment quantity where reasonably possible; and
- other receiving information.
Routine arrival verification is not a technical functionality test, product certification, authenticity certification or manufacturer warranty inspection unless Avanta expressly offers such a service.
38. Delivery and pickup
The applicable delivery or pickup arrangement is governed by Avanta's Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Customers are responsible for:
- providing accurate contact information;
- providing accurate delivery information;
- being available to receive deliveries;
- protecting pickup or delivery codes; and
- complying with reasonable recipient-verification procedures.
39. Customer responsibility for order review
Before payment, customers should review:
- product;
- brand;
- size;
- color;
- model;
- quantity;
- product price;
- Avanta charges;
- delivery method;
- delivery address; and
- applicable disclosures.
Completing checkout confirms that the customer has reviewed the order information presented at that time.
40. Customer communications
Avanta may communicate transactional information through supported channels such as Avanta account notifications, email, WhatsApp, SMS or other available channels.
Customers are responsible for keeping their contact information current.
Important transactional communications may include:
- price-change approval;
- product unavailability;
- customs information;
- delivery coordination;
- return instructions;
- refund information; and
- security verification.
41. Customer response required
Certain order events may require customer action. Examples include:
- approving a retailer price increase;
- choosing an alternative product;
- paying an applicable customs charge;
- confirming delivery information;
- providing documentation; or
- responding to a restricted-item review.
An order may be paused while Avanta waits for the necessary customer decision or information.
42. No automatic customer approval
Failure to respond to an Avanta request does not automatically constitute approval for:
- a higher product price;
- a materially different substitute;
- an additional optional charge; or
- another material change to the customer's purchase.
Avanta may instead pause or cancel the affected item after reasonable attempts to contact the customer.
43. Customer-submitted links, screenshots and requests
Customers may be able to ask Avanta or Sika to locate products using retailer links, screenshots, product descriptions, photographs, written requests or other supported inputs.
The customer must not intentionally misrepresent the requested product. Avanta may request clarification before completing the purchase.
44. Errors and technical interruptions
Avanta may temporarily experience:
- website errors;
- payment interruptions;
- retailer-integration errors;
- catalog-sync delays;
- inaccurate availability;
- connectivity issues; or
- other technical problems.
Avanta will make reasonable efforts to correct material errors. Avanta will not knowingly rely on an obvious technical malfunction to unfairly bind a customer to an unintended transaction.
45. Force majeure and events outside reasonable control
Avanta is not responsible for delays or failure caused by circumstances reasonably outside its control, including:
- severe weather;
- natural disasters;
- war;
- civil disruption;
- government action;
- customs delays;
- airline disruption;
- major carrier disruption;
- strikes;
- widespread telecommunications outages;
- public-health emergencies; or
- similar events.
This provision does not remove rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
46. Limitation of third-party responsibility
Avanta coordinates transactions involving independent third parties.
Avanta does not control every act of:
- retailers;
- marketplace sellers;
- manufacturers;
- airlines;
- carriers;
- payment providers;
- customs authorities;
- courier providers; or
- other third parties.
Where a problem is caused by a third party, Avanta will provide reasonable assistance consistent with the applicable Avanta policies. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or customer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
47. Customer rights
Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or limit mandatory customer rights available under applicable law. Ghana's Electronic Transactions Act includes consumer-protection provisions governing electronic transactions.
If a provision of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable law will prevail to the extent of that conflict.
48. Personal data
Avanta processes customer information required to:
- operate accounts;
- process orders;
- coordinate purchases;
- process payments;
- manage fraud prevention;
- communicate order updates;
- coordinate delivery;
- provide customer support; and
- operate the Avanta service.
Personal-data handling is governed by Avanta's Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Ghana's Data Protection Commission states that organizations collecting or processing personal data in Ghana are required to comply with the Data Protection Act 2012 (Act 843), and its official guidance states that organizations processing personal data must register with the Commission.
49. Changes to these terms
Avanta may update these Terms of Purchase when necessary to reflect service changes, operational changes, legal requirements, payment changes, delivery changes, retailer arrangements or other legitimate business needs.
Changes will apply prospectively unless applicable law permits or requires otherwise. The version applicable to a completed purchase should be identifiable from the effective date or order records.
